ABOUT THE PROJECT

In 2023 I came up with the idea of a remote controlled water rocket. I designed and tested a trigger to empty a CO² canister into a water bottle first.

After succesfully testing the trigger design I decided that I want to build a water rocket powered RC plane. I went to quite a few iterations before ending at a design that would work and look good at the same time.

The final design of the plane has a flying wing configuration with the bottle sticking out of the fuselage below the wing.

We lifted the empty plane to save weight and test the gliding skills into the air with the help of another bigger plane. Unfortunately the rocketplane crashed rather spectacularly. A new design is on its way and I will keep you posted.
